The Hero pulls out a gun and the Villain does as well. Bam Bam Bam and the Villain is dead and the Hero wins without breaking a sweat. We have seen this in many of the modern movies. So, does that mean that the good old hand to hand combat is dead? Not at all.
So, what is it that still makes people gravitate towards the nearest Martial Arts Club? What makes them so curious about it? What really is the charm of Martial Arts?
Martial Arts was obviously founded when there were no guns. Hence it has a rich traditional value. But, is that enough? Many of the Martial Arts have been turned into Sports? But even that is not enough. What really makes people love Martial Arts is very interesting.
What a Primitive Man first learnt to survive in the wild was to fight. Fight or Fade was the mantra. Even today, when anyone gets into a fist fight, you will find spectators gawking at them with enthusiasm rather than separating them. So, let us accept that we just love combat. We may not want to get into one, but would like to see one. This is one of the major reasons, so many MMA Organisations have sprung up.
But what happens when a Martial Artist has to fight a guy with a gun in his hand?
Enter Krav Maga.
This is Self Defense System which actually teaches you to defend yourself against Firearms. It will be interesting to learn a Modern Art like Krav Maga because, let’s face it, guns are the future. Everyone is going to possess them. Being able to defend yourself will always be a plus point. Innovation is the key. Fusion of tradition along with the modern requirements for survival is of utmost importance.
Now here is a video from one of my favourite movies. Enjoy!
